Abba’s hits have been filling dancefloors for decades and pop up at every cheesy disco worth its glitter balls.         

Their work has been made into a film and a musical and now Mamma Mia fever of a different temperature is heading to Dubai… yup you’ve guessed it, this time it’s On Ice.

If you thought you’d finally heard the last of ‘Thankyou for the Music’ and ‘Dancing Queen’, think again, as a new production of the show is playing now at the Airport Expo.

We’re sure most men in Dubai will be quaking in their skates at the thought of being dragged to the show to help their other halves ‘get into the Christmas spirit’. Don’t you just love this time of year?

“If there’s only one way you could think of to make Mamma Mia more tortuous - it’s putting it on ice,” one Dubai bloke told 7DAYS frostily.

But for those of you who love a musical and marvel at daring ice stunts, the lively and uplifting show promises both.

Featuring a cheese-churning 22, yes 22, Abba songs, professional ice-skaters will bring the movie to life and tell the story of a young girl in Greece who tries to find out who her father is before she gets married.

The famous stage show was last year made into the blockbuster movie of the same name, starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.

The show will play daily at 5.30pm and 8.30pm, until December 5 with an 8.30pm show on 6 and 7 December.
